Relationships are like puzzles. You each have pieces that you bring together to form a picture. Sometimes those pieces fit, sometimes they don't, and sometimes there's actually a piece missing (usually under the couch!) So here's what you can expect in our sessions together:
- Safety. Emotional issues brought to therapy can quickly escalate. I will gate-keep effectively so that each voice is heard and honoured in a safe and respectful environment.
- Getting off the Blame Train. It's so much easier to blame others for things that go wrong in life. 'If only they would...(you fill in the blank).' It really does take two to tango. I will invite you to own your part in the dance and support you in learning new steps.
- No Bullshit. I like to get to the point reasonably quickly (saves time and money) so I will invite you to be clear in expressing your feelings and needs (not easy by the way).
- Connecting the Dots. Relationships are the best way to work on yourself. They are the laboratories in which to do the work. My job is not to tell you what to do, I simply try to connect the dots for you, knowing that the dots are already within you.
